Associate Director of Alumni and Corporate Engagement

As the associate director of alumni and corporate engagement, Nomeka Sours manages a full range of events and experiences, such as alumni professional networking events, corporate visits, and large-scale industry and government forums.  

Nomeka has over 12 years of travel and event experience, both domestic and international, and considers herself a highly organized, detail-oriented "people person" who enjoys planning both small and large events. Her event experience includes student and alumni events for Virginia Tech, client and prospective client events for a Richmond-based marketing firm, large-scale international events for a faith-based nonprofit, and conference and industry events for a Roanoke-based FinTech startup.

In her free time, Nomeka enjoys cake decorating, watching college football, and spending time with friends, family, and her cat, Oliver. Born and raised in the New River Valley, Nomeka holds a B.S. in marketing from Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business.
