Licensing Officer

Neha Samant currently serves as a licensing officer at LICENSE: Center for Technology Commercialization, bringing more than 10 years of experience in academic research, licensing and business development. Before joining Virginia Tech, she served as a licensing and business development associate at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, where she gained extensive experience in complex licensing deals, sponsored research agreements and negotiating term sheets for technologies across biomedical sciences, artificial intelligence and software.

Neha is passionate about learning new technologies and working with collaborators to turn ideas into real-world impact. She finds it a privilege to help bring life-changing, high-impact innovations closer to the market.

She holds a Ph.D. in biomedical sciences from UMass Chan Medical School, a master’s degree in biotechnology from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a bachelor’s degree in biotechnology from the Kolhapur Institute of Technology in India.
